For optimal communication with parents, iLearn is committed to the following actions:
- iLearn staff will strive for clear, effective, and timely communication with parents using a variety of strategies.
- iLearn staff will hold orientations at the beginning of each semester, providing comprehensive information and materials detailing our practices, procedures, and policies.
- iLearn staff will provide parents access to (1) course content, (2) an explanation of the curriculum used as well as the forms of academic assessment, and (3) the proficiency levels that students are expected to meet.
- iLearn staff will aid parents in understanding Tennessee's academic content standards and student achievement benchmarks.
- iLearn staff will update our website, informing students and parents of school events and other important topics.
- iLearn staff will grant parents access to student course(s) allowing parents to view student grades, assignments, and teacher feedback.
- iLearn staff will also help parents monitor student achievement through access to course grades.
- iLearn staff will host parent conferences each school year to discuss the achievement of students, as well as collaborate on additional ways to support learners.
- iLearn staff will maintain an "open door" policy with faculty and staff accessible for telephone calls, emails, and conferences with parents.
