Credit Advancement

The iLearn Institute at Lenoir City Schools’ Credit Advancement Program allows both middle and high school students to earn credits virtually in a variety of subject areas. This allows middle school students to get a jump on their high school coursework, while allowing high school students to free up room in their schedules for additional electives.

By enrolling in credit advancement, both parents and students agree that they have read, understood, and agreed to the following:

  • I have read the Parent / Student Handbook of the iLearn Institute at Lenoir City Schools and understand that if my child is allowed to work independently during any school session (summer, nine weeks or semester), the school system and myself will share supervision responsibilities for monitoring to make sure he/she is logging in and completing all assignments as required in keeping with the pace prescribed in each course.
  • I understand that the cost for a virtual course is $83 per half credit course, and $158 per full credit course, payable to Lenoir City Schools.
  • I have read the school policies and procedures of the iLearn Institute at Lenoir City Schools and understand that if I am allowed to work independently during any school session (summer, nine weeks or semester), I will be responsible for attending an orientation session with my teacher, logging in and completing all assignments as required in keeping with the pace prescribed in each course.
  • I understand that enrolling in a virtual course automatically results in me being scheduled for Credit Advancement ASB for any semester in which I am enrolled.
  • I understand that the last day to enroll in a virtual course is five school days from the first day of the semester, and that the last day to drop a virtual course is two weeks after the first day of the semester.
  • I understand that if I fail a virtual course I will not be allowed to take another virtual course in the future.
  • I understand that the last day to obtain a refund for a virtual course is exactly two weeks from the first school day of the semester.
